CBD patches are becoming increasingly popular with our customers that are looking for targetted relief in specific areas of their body; for example those with back pain, knee pain, or chronic pain issues like arthritis and fibromyalgia.

For those have you that have yet to try these CBD "pain patches", we thought it would be useful to answer a few of the most common questions that we receive on a regular basis.

What do CBD patches do?

CBD patches offer relief to specific parts of your body by delivering targetted concentrations of cannabinoids. A key benefit of using CBD patches is that the dosages are highly accurate.

To understand CBD patches in more detail it's important to recognise the two different technologies involved in transdermal pain relief patches. The large majority of pain patches are what you call "single layer monolithic patches". With this patch technology the active ingredient (which is our world is CBD) is mixed with adhesive and a re-agent, and voila you have a transdermal patch.

These patches work wonderfully well, with a great example being these 10mg CBD Patches from Cannacares that we've selected, priced at just £9.99 for 4 patches.

The second important pain patch technology is the "reservoir patch", with these patches the active ingredient (CBD) is stored in a reservoir in the middle of the patch, separate from the adhesive. The main benefit of that is you can pack more of the CBD in, so you get a stronger patch that lasts for longer. A great example being the best-selling Pure Ratios 40mg CBD Patches that we currently have in stock.

Do CBD patches work?

Whilst we are not legally allowed to make any medical claims about CBD, the anecdotal evidence from our customers would suggest that these CBD patches are helping with a range of issues, primarily those related to chronic pain, inflammation and muscle injuries.

We have had some positive feedback from people using the CBD patches for general therapeutic benefits, and to help with stress and anxiety, but the large majority of customers are using for localised targetted pain relief.

It is, of course, important to remember that this form of CBD has not been clinically proven to provide medical benefits as yet, so the evidence we have is only anecdotal.

As with all CBD products, due to the genetic complexity of both the cannabis plant and humans, the effects really do vary from person to person. What might work for you may not necessarily work for someone else - and vice versa.

What is the best CBD patch?

At Handpicked CBD, we’re incredibly selective about the brands that we work with. We want to ensure that we're always delivering the best CBD products to our customers, and that's no different when it comes to CBD patches.

To that end, we have currently selected just two CBD patch brands for listing on Handpicked CBD. The first being Cannacares, with their excellent 10mg CBD Patches, and the second being Pure Ratios with their extra strong 40mg CBD Patches.

Both have been very popular and we get regular positive feedback from customers about each of them.

Do CBD patches work for back pain?

Whilst we're not allowed to make any medical claims, there’s a whole host of anecdotal evidence to suggest that CBD patches have helped to support the easing of back pain, as well as other forms of body discomfort.

However, we cannot yet say that CBD patches are an appropriate way for you to fix your back pain, or any other form of chronic pain. If you are suffering from back pain, we highly recommend that you consult with your local GP or pharmacist, who can advise you on the best method of care based on your symptoms.

Do CBD patches make you sleepy?

We've yet to see any scientific studies to suggest that CBD patches have the ability to make you feel sleepy or tired. Until substantial evidence suggests otherwise, you can rest assured that it's highly unlikely CBD patches will make you feel sleepy.

As we've mentioned before though, CBD will do different things for different people, so it’s always best to start slowly, with a single patch, and see how your body reacts.
